JA at World Economic Forum on Latin America 2017

Last week, JA participated in the World Economic Forum on Latin America. Our CEO, Asheesh Advani, served as a co-chair of the meeting and participated in two panel discussions, while JA Americas' President, Leo Martellotto, led a work session on breaking down employment barriers. The two also co-authored an article on self-efficacy for the WEF blog, published in both English and Spanish

WEF kicked off the meeting by assembling the co-chairs for a press conference. Watch below as Asheesh is joined by co-chairs Alejandro P. Bulgheroni (Chairman, Bridas Corporation), Hans-Paul Bürkner (Chairman, The Boston Consulting Group), and Eduardo S. Elsztain (Chairman, IRSA Inversiones y Representaciones), and facilitator Marisol Argueta de Barillas (Head of Latin America, Member of the Executive Committee, World Economic Forum).

Later that day, Asheesh served as a discussion leader for the "Building the Workforce of the Future" panel.

Leo then served as a discussion leader for the "Breaking Down Employment Barriers" panel.

Devex—the media platform and social enterprise for global development—reported from the event and talked to JA about youth unemployment.

Finally, Asheesh sat on the closing panel, "Fostering Development and Entrepreneurship in the Fourth Industrial Revolution," with Marcos Bulgheroni (Executive Director, Pan American Energy, LLC), Eduardo S. Elsztain (Chairman, IRSA Inversiones y Representaciones), Geraldo Alckmin Filho (Governor of São Paulo), Marcos Peña (Chief of Cabinet of Ministers, Argentina Government), Michael Rake (Chairman, BT Group Plc), and facilitated by Gabriela Frias (anchor, CNN en Español).
