FedEx Explores Global Possibilities with INJAZ Al-Arab YEC

November 15, 2021

INJAZ Al-Arab JA MENA kicked off its Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration (YEC) 2021 on November 1 with the launch of this year’s INJAZ Entrepreneurship Ecosystem. This year’s YEC includes 21 student companies from 13 countries in the MENA region at both the high school and university levels. Part of the YEC journey involves participation in a series of Skills Enhancement Sessions as part of the four signature awards qualifications from event sponsors, including Boeing, Investcorp, Mastercard, and FedEx.

FedEx has sponsored JA competitions in all six regions since 2007, including regional Company of the Year competitions, the FedEx Junior Business Challenge in the U.S., the International Trade Challenge in Asia Pacific, and the JA Alumni Accelerator Award.

To qualify for the FedEx Global Possiblities Award, students must participate in the FedEx Global Possibilities Skills Enhancement Session, which took place on November 3.

Seif Eldick, Business Development Manager for FedEx Express Africa, and Muhannad Ayyoub, Business Development Manager for FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa, led the session, during which they discussed the four principles that create global possibilities:

  1. Driven by innovation

  2. Connected to new markets

  3. Fueling community development

  4. Demonstrates an active commitment to sustainability and social responsibility

In addition to a talk from both Seif and Muhannad, students participated in a virtual scavenger hunt followed by group discussions. Finally, students heard about the judging criteria for the FedEx Global Possibilities Award. Based on their company reports, commercials, and presentations, the student companies (one high school and one university team) that best exhibit these principles will win the FedEx Global Possibilities Award.
