World Economic Forum Recognizes JA Finland's Efforts with JA Company Program
January 20, 2020
JA Finland’s implementation of the JA Company Program in a school close to Helsinki was featured this month in a new report from the World Economic Forum (WEF). The report, "Schools of the Future: Defining New Models of Education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution," examines how education needs to change and identifies eight "critical characteristics in learning content and experiences." JA Finland’s work is featured as one of several unique and successful models in the report that calls for "a system-level change [that will require closer collaboration between education ministries, educators and private sector leaders to connect and scale those efforts to create holistic education systems."
This is the third consecutive year that JA has been featured at WEF. In 2018, JA Worldwide President and CEO Asheesh Advani joined a panel called "Educating Innovative Societies” and penned a post on the WEF blog about youth and optimism. In 2019, Asheesh’s blog post “5 ways to bring school curricula up to speed“ was named among the “Best of Davos.”
