Monthly Regional Round-Up: Highlights from Our Six Regions

There’s always so much happening in the six JA regions that it can be hard to keep up! That’s why we’ve compiled some of our favorite stories from each regional operating center from December and January.

Junior Achievement USA: In November, Junior Achievement USA received two honors from educational company LearnX. The first was the Diamond Award for Best Pandemic Response/E-Learning Design, for the rapid transition to Google Sites, remote classrooms, and self-guided courses to deliver educational content to schools impacted by COVID-related restrictions. The second was the Gold Award for Best Learning Technology for the development of the new JA Titan application.

JA Europe: 2022 is the European Year of Youth! JA Europe is proud to be associated with the European Commission’s European Year of Youth in 2022. JA Europe's Gen-E 2022 European Entrepreneurship Festival is a flagship celebration of entrepreneurship, education, and employment of the next generation of Europeans. JA Americas: In December, JA Americas launched the regional work fair “Winning Women,” powered by IBM. Graduates and industry partners brought together young women from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru to help them develop coding skills and prepare them for work in the knowledge economy. JA Africa: JA Digital Entrepreneurship Education Program (JA DEEP), JA Africa's first program offering in its virtual skills lab, is officially live. The online, interactive entrepreneurship curriculum was created specifically for young African learners, including those who live in countries or go to schools where JA is not present. JA DEEP builds on JA’s existing entrepreneurship programs (JA Company Program and JA ITS TYME) in an online format that teaches the same principles in an engaging and fun way. Learn more.

INJAZ Al-Arab JA MENA: Last month, INJAZ Al-Arab and SAP celebrated the Digital Skills for Today Program. SAP’s CSR signature initiative for MENA has impacted over 87,132 youth across 14 countries. The pan-Arab panel discussion, "Inclusive Cyber Talents in the Arab World," was held at SAP House at EXPO 2020 Dubai and delved into the opportunities and challenges of the digital revolution in the Arab world. The panel also touched on a range of topics surrounding the upskilling of today’s youth, including the positive impact of digital upskilling, redefining traditional curriculums, innovation in the classroom, and how the digital and social world of today impacts the way children learn.

JA Asia Pacific: Last month, tGELF (JA India) held its Entrepreneurship Sports Generation (ESG) 2021 Global Finals. ESG is a global tournament that reimagines entrepreneurship as sport and offers the world's most promising startups a platform to unleash their potential and achieve global scale. This year’s competition featured 600,000 entrepreneurs from over 190 countries all working to solve the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. ESG is the official Accelerator to the #WorldsToDoList, an initiative launched during the United Nations General Assembly in 2021. Read more.
