JA Company Program Incubates Nonprofits, Too
If you thought the JA Company Program incubated only for-profit companies, 12th-grader Liat Fainman-Adelman wants you to reconsider. Liat is president of Compass, a JA Company located in Toronto, Canada, which creates welcome packages for Syrian refugees and facilitates workshops for high schools in order to raise awareness of the refugee crisis. With an impressive list of sponsors (Deloitte, BlackBerry, Sun Life Financial Canada, Mastermind, and the Bargain Group, so far), this JA nonprofit is well on its way to changing the world.
