JA China Celebrates 30-year Anniversary
September 4, 2023
In July, JA China celebrated its 30th Anniversary around a series major annual events, including the national Company of the Year competition (COY) and the Teacher Summit. These events not only showcased JA China’s 30-year achievement but also shared the organization’s vision for the future and engaged many different stakeholders.
Teacher Summit
The annual Teacher Summit reinforces JA China’s connection with the education administration and schools by sharing best practices from JA programs, future directions in education, theories, and new techniques. The 30th-anniversary theme, “cross-boundary innovation,” leverages China entering a new economic era. To enhance this theme, the summit was held in the capital city of Beijing. Education experts from leading universities and research institutes, as well as corporate leaders, were invited to help teachers explore how schools can nurture innovation from and within the education system. Over one hundred teachers from around the country participated in the summit. Participants were very impressed by the quality of the content provided and more convinced that JA is a worthy partner to better develop school staff and inspire the young people of China with good character and skills to succeed in the new economy.
Company of the Year Competition
Leveraging the most important event of JA’s flagship program, the JA China team celebrated its 30th Anniversary in Chengdu, a leading city bursting with emerging industries, such as new energy and manufacturing. Sharing sessions from multinational companies, including General Motors and Albemarle, as well as local, like leading semi-conductor producer Tongwei, added a strong sustainability feature to this year’s COY. Young Chinese entrepreneurs were inspired to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Gala Dinner
Finally, JA China held a gala dinner to commemorate the 30th anniversary. Sponsors, long-term volunteers, and teachers joined in the celebration. The event highlighted achievements and recognized outstanding partnerships from the past 30 years. The gala also focused on looking forward and defining the future of JA China.
