HSBC and JA Partner to Teach Youth Financial-Capability Skills
September 28, 2021
We owe the next generation better opportunities to be financially capable, responsible, and resilient. That's why HSBC and JA Worldwide are expanding our partnership to help young people learn future skills, gain self-confidence, and develop a positive attitude toward managing their money.
This year is full of milestones for our newest initiative, JA Building a Financially Capable Generation.
In July, an independent evaluation showed that a key benefit of the education initiative is introducing young people to financial capability content and concepts they don't get anywhere else.
Last month, HSBC renewed its support with a grant of $2.2M as part of a three year, $6.9M pledge to create the program and launch a free educational app for public use.
This month, HSBC volunteers and JA educators will begin program activities in 17 countries.
In November, JA Worldwide will make the program available to all 100+ of its member countries, which together reach 10 million young people each year.
In December, HSBC and JA will launch the free app, called FinQuest.
