First-Ever FIE 2020 @Home

JA Americas held its first virtual regional event of 2020 this week with the annual Foro Internacional de Emprendedores (FIE)—the International Forum of Entrepreneurs—hosted by JA Mexico.

Over four days, from June 25–28, 2020, more than 900 young people from 11 countries in the the Americas region participated in educational activities to develop entrepreneurial skills and attitudes and strengthen their values.

Festivities kicked off on Day One with welcome messages from Carlos Latorre, President, JA Mexico; Leonardo Martelloto, CEO, JA Americas; and Asheesh Advani, President and CEO of JA Worldwide. JA Worldwide Board of Governors Chair Francesco Vanni D’Archirafi was also a featured speaker.

Days Two and Four were sponsored by SAP and Dell, respectively, and featured speakers from both companies, including workshops and panel discussions.

The 2020 FIE utilized themes from the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development, with each day focusing on a larger category. Day One looked at partnerships and focused on SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals. The theme for Day Two was people with a focus on Global Goals 1–5; Day Three was the planet with a focus on Global Goals 6, 12, 13, 14, and 15; and Day Four was peace and prosperity with a focus on Global Goals 7–11.
