JA Runners Lace Up for 127th Boston Marathon

April 17, 2023

Camilo Rodriguez, Obi Nwogugu, Clare Horan, and Senator Lydia Edwards faced down the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton to Boylston St. today in the 127th Boston Marathon. And they're not done raising funds yet!

You can still donate to their fundraisers for JA Americas and JA Africa. Check out their impressive finishing times:

  • Camilo Rodriguez – 3:33:54

  • Obi Nwogugu – 3:46:48

  • Clare Horan – 4:36:22

  • Senator Lydia Edwards – 6:39:35

Senator Edwards also exceeded her fundraising goal by 25%!

If you haven’t donated to our runners’ fundraisers for JA, there’s still time! Donations will be accepted through the end of April. Find links to each runner’s fundraiser below.

Correction: The original version of this post did not include Senator Edwards’ finish time and mentioned that she left the race at mile 15. She, in fact, finished at the time noted above. We apologize for this error.

March 17, 2023

The Boston Marathon is one month away, and our supporters are back to run the world’s oldest marathon on behalf of JA!

For the fourth year in a row, John Hancock selected JA Worldwide as an official partner for the Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program. The program gives us bibs for JA supporters who want to participate in the marathon and raise money for our organization. This year, we’re excited to cheer on Obi Nwogugu from Nigeria, Massachusetts state Senator Lydia Edwards, JA supporter Camilo Rodriguez, and JA Americas Board Member Clare Horan.
