JA Worldwide Board of Governors Seeks Alumni Member

September 15, 2022

The JA Worldwide Board of Governors is seeking a JA alumni member to join the governing body. After the application window closes on September 30, the Board’s People Development Committee will create a shortlist of nominees, and the Board of Governors will select the final candidate.

Experienced JA, INJAZ, and Young Enterprise (YE) alumni are encouraged to apply to be the JA Worldwide Board of Governors alumni member. (JA, INJAZ, and YE staff alumni, volunteer alumni, and other “non-student JA/INJAZ/YE alumni” cannot apply for the alumni member position.) Alumni candidates should be familiar with JA programs and activities and have a commitment to JA’s mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Candidates must have experience working with a JA alumni association or JA member country and have demonstrated strong leadership skills in education, entrepreneurship, or your own industry, ideally on a global basis.

The elected alumni member will serve a three-year term beginning in July 2023, with an onboarding period with the current alumni member, Elena Tosheva, prior to July. Consistent with the expectation of all Governors, the alumni member is expected to attend at least one meeting in person annually and attend the other two meetings via Zoom or phone. The role of the alumni member is unpaid and JA Worldwide will not pay for any travel or other expenses incurred during the fulfillment of the role. Special arrangements to cover travel or expenses may be made on a case-by-case basis.

The application period is currently open, and all applications must be received by September 30. You may also nominate a JA alumnus whom you believe would be a good fit for this role.
