100 Lives: JA Alumni Develop Unique Avocado Products

With avocados ranking as the number-one crop in Michoacán, Mexico, five JA Mexico alumni set out to turn their agricultural bounty into a bonafide business. They developed an avocado-based milk and an avocado mayonnaise, and then began producing them, along with guacamole and a line of traditional dairy products. As a result of their unique recipes, AvoProducts won the prestigious Mexican Agroindustrial Development Grant for Innovative Products, which allowed the company to build a full-scale facility.

And thanks to FedEx, AvoProducts has access to national and global markets that will help the company blossom. Congratulations to our latest 100 Lives alumni: Manuel Alejandro Reyes Ortega (CEO), María del Rubí Mendoza Villalobos (CFO), Martha Villegas Manzo (COO), Alejandro Hurtado Tapia (Marketing Manager), and José Jesús Urúe Corral (Sales Coordinator).
