Rens van Den Broek
Rens van den Broek is a Partner in McKinsey & Company’s San Francisco office and a leader in McKinsey’s People & Organizational Performance and Technology practices. He leads pro bono efforts for McKinsey North America, and MckinseyIn, an accelerator program to support startups with underrepresented founders. Rens is passionate about education: he has supported Junior Achievement on both local and global efforts since 2019, leads learning for McKinsey’s Technology practice, and prior to McKinsey was head of Financial Inclusion for Child & Youth Finance International, a global non-profit that was focused on financial education and inclusion of young people.
Rens’ recent work at McKinsey has included leading the operating model, culture, and diversity, equity, and inclusion transformation for a U.S.-based software company, supporting a nonprofit foundation in defining and establishing an operating model and culture to deliver on its 3–5 year strategy, and helping a nonprofit community center to define its strategy and business model to establish a self-funding mental health clinic targeted at underserved populations.
Rens is trained by Newfield Networks as an Ontological Coach, Corporate Leader with the Council on Foreign Relations, and Expert Advisory Council member for The Leadership Academy, a US-based nonprofit. Rens holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business and Master of Law, both from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, where he also completed his undergraduate degrees (Economics and Dutch Law).
