John Ambrose, Net-Zero Energy Investments
John Ambrose originates investments that help the environment and make money for the next generation.
In 1979, John was chosen as JA Advisor of the Year in Sarnia. His student company, JAWS (Junior Achievement Working Students), won Company of the Year after creating a new and popular natural product, “Flower Power.” Today, John helps cities fight climate change. With his experience in investments and engineering, he creates "net-zero energy" buildings with next-century investment returns but without any carbon dioxide emissions.
John created MD Private Trust at the Canadian Medical Association for discretionary management. He managed $2 billion for doctors with socially responsible objectives with his investment method that beat the S&P 500 by investing in only 4% of its companies. After that, he built the first exclusive investment counsel for doctors and professors. At Citibank, John created large M&A transactions to $5 billion. At Imperial Oil, he worked on a team to create $100 million per year in profitable environmental improvements.
He has served on boards and at schools to help the next generation: Chair of the Banting Research Foundation, Chair of Princeton's Alumni Schools Committee in Canada, member of Governing Council of the University of Toronto, Chair of the Prince Edward County Library, and Professor or lecturer for 300 students in Toronto and Vermont.
