ROUNDTABLE MEMBER COMPANIES REACH MORE
THAN 450,000 STUDENTS
WITH JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAMS
Washington, D.C. – Junior Achievement (JA) is proud
to announce that The Financial Services Roundtable member companies provided
nearly 7,000 classroom volunteers to deliver JA programs during the 2008-09
school year. Throughout the country, nearly 460,000 students received Junior
Achievement's work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs.
Junior Achievement aims to empower young people by giving them the tools and
confidence to succeed in the workforce, to effectively manage their finances and
to be entrepreneurial.
The following Roundtable member companies completed the
most Junior Achievement classroom sessions:
1.) Wells Fargo & Company: 2,078
2.) General Electric Company: 1,880
3.) HSBC North America Holdings, Inc.: 1,673
4.) State Farm Insurance Companies: 1,173
5.) U.S. Bancorp: 1,054
Junior Achievement has been a Roundtable Community Service
Partner since 2008. This partnership provides Roundtable member companies an
opportunity for increasing participation in financial education programs
throughout communities.

entrepreneurial skills and knowledge needed to sustain small business
development in America.
